Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, is a fantasy MMORPG created by Mythic Entertainment. WAR is a virtual fantasy realm where the players can align themselves with two warring factions: Order and Destruction. Each faction has three individual armies broken down into different career choices.

World of Warcraft: is the largest MMORPG game in the world. Boasting an estimated eleven million active players players, World of Warcraft, aka WoW, has officially become the largest and greatest virtual world game ever created. Players can play as their own customized character in a 3D environment that is extremely realistic and life like.

Runescape: is one of the most popular MMORPG (Massively Multi-player Online Role Playing Game) games of all time. There are several million players that play regularly, as well as countless fan sites and player resource guides found all over the Internet. Players can enter a realistic 3D virtual world from the comfort of their own homes. This fantasy realm, called Gielinor, is made up a variety of “zones”, including kingdoms and cities. RuneScape members can play as their very own customized character while exploring the world, doing things like fighting monsters, combating other players, and participating in exciting quests.

Final Fantasy: games are traditionally played on a Sony Playstation system, but Final Fantasy XI is also available as a MMORPG game that can be played online. Over a million players play the game, which provides hundreds of quests as well as player VS player options. The storyline takes place in a fantasy world called “Vana’diel”, where players can customize their own character to guide through the virtual world. Players can choose between five races: hume, elvaan, tarutaru, galka, and mithra.

The Matrix Online: aka MxO, is one of the most popular massively multiplayer online (MMORPG) games which is an official sequel and continuation of The Matrix films and storyline. Prior to being released in the United States and Europe in the spring of 2005, it was played by beta-testers as well as those who pre-ordered copies of it.

Dark Ages of Camelot: is a free online MMORPG game based in a medieval-type fantasy world. The game, as its name suggests, is heavily influenced by King Arthur legends. The storyline revolves around three realms warring at the end of King Arthur’s rule. Players can choose which of the three realms they’d like to live in and participate in: Midgard, which is based on Norse myths; Celtic Hibernia, which is ancient Ireland; and Albion, which is inspired by legends of the King Arthur legends.

Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures is the fist installment of the Age of Conan series. It’s a massive multi-player online role playing game that takes plays in a virtual, 3d, fantasy world. The game takes the players to the Hyborian Kingdoms, and the timeline takes place a year after the fantasy Conan novel, “The Hour of the Dragon”. The Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures was released on during the 76th anniversary celebration of the Conan franchise.

Lord of the Rings Online: is a great game for fans of MMORPG and Lord of the Rings alike. For fans of both, it’s an awesome game! Lord of the Rings Online is of coursed based on the popular books written by J.R.R. Tolkien and the films by Peter Jackson.

City of Heroes: is an online massive mutli-player role playing game (MMORPG) that allows players to become super heroes and fight against evil enemies and gangs. The game has a “comic book” feel, and takes place in a world called Paragon City. Paragon City is the home of many strange, eccentric, powerful villains, and it’s up to the player to help protect the citizens from the likes of the villains.

EverQuest: is an online MMORPG game that takes place in Norrath, a virtual world that features over twelve different races, fourteen classes, and a whole lot of adventure! A large number of players are online at any given time doing things like joining in groups, going on quests together, working on guilds, etc. Of course, with all MMORPG games, some players prefer to play solo. There are enough EverQuest servers that hold hundreds and even thousands of people!
