Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, is a fantasy MMORPG created by Mythic Entertainment. WAR is a virtual fantasy realm where the players can align themselves with two warring factions: Order and Destruction. Each faction has three individual armies broken down into different career choices.

Here is an overview of Warhammer Online — WAR:

• Players wishing to join the Order can choose to play as a dwarf, empire (human), or a high elf.

• The Destruction realm offers players the choice of playing as Greenskins (goblins or orcs), chaos, and dark elves.

• Warhammer Online has guild features that are advanced and unparalleled, as members of guilds can create their own unique heraldry, earn Guild Tactics as they level up, and can make claims on all their keeps.

• Realm VS Realm allows the players to fight side by side with their group players and fellow guild members. They can join together to work on public quests.

• Players who prefer playing solo can enjoy parts of the game as well, and aren’t forced to participate in Realm VS Realm or Player vs Player activities.

• The Warhammer Online virtual world is massive, allowing the players to spend hours exploring cities, caverns, villages, and even empires.

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning was recently released on Sept. 18, 2008, simultaneously on different continents and regions, including North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. It’s already receiving high ratings and positive reviews, including 5 out of 5 stars from Game Spy. Gamespot has rated it 8.5 out of 10 for its Player VS Player features. There have already been over 1 million copies of the game sold in the five weeks since its release.

Before the release of Age of Reckoning, Warhammer Online won other various awards from 2006-2008. Age of Reckoning was Warcry's Editor's Choice for the Most Anticipated Game in 2008.

The graphics for WAR are some of the best ever seen for MMORPG’s, and the character designs for all races are highly detailed. Thousands of images and screenshots can be found online, as the million + players show off their own character’s designs. The overall scenery contains beautiful textures, making it one of the most scenic game worlds ever made.

Beginners to the game, “newbies”, can find all sorts of guides online to help them get started, including “power leveling” guides. Players can interact through Internet forums as well as gameplay chat. Help is available for all players, so that everyone can enjoy everything the game offers.
